WATER & SANITATION

the Water Well against FGM project funded by BMZ/Pfefferminzgreen. This project aimed at reducing the high level of violence perpetrated against women and girls in rural communities especially on the abduction of young girls into FGM.  The roads to the stream were mostly used as a trap for the forceful initiation into FGM.

VILLAGE SAVINGS & LOAN SCHEME

Village savings and loan is a scheme used by AIM Sierra Leone in-order to boost the economy of women especially the Ex-FGM Practitioners. The organization has supported about 25 groups of women with trainings, seed money, savings boxes and stationaries. These groups have been monitored on weekly basis so as to provide them the needed technical and moral support for the normal functioning of the various groups. This has helped to reshape the economic activities of these women through the engagement in small scale businesses to support the education of their children and their daily up-keeping
