The Amazonian Initiative Movement abbreviated as AIM , is an independent women’s rights organization founded in November 2000 by refugee women at the then Kalia Refugee Camp in Conakry Guinea. Amazonian Initiative Movement (AIM) is a registered Non-Governmental Organization recognized by Ministry of Social Welfare Gender and Children’s Affairs, SLANGO, Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Development and Economic Planning.
It is a human right, non-governmental, non-lucrative and non-political movement. AIM is not a for-profit-making organization but rather works to enhance citizen’s active participation and involvements in upholding human rights, cultures and promoting participatory governance at the grass root levels through effective information disseminations, advocacy, lobbying, dialogue forums, civic education and community driven programs/activities.
